(ECF No 24.) 14 COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SECURITY, 15 Defendant. 16 17 On May 24, 2022, the court granted summary judgment in favor of the Commissioner of 18 Social Security and issued its judgment.1 (ECF No. 21.) On June 24, 2022, plaintiff filed a 19 notice of appeal. (ECF No. 23.) Thereafter, plaintiff filed a motion to proceed in forma pauperis 20 with this court. (See ECF No. 24.) 21 “An appeal may not be taken in forma pauperis if the trial court certifies in writing that it 22 is not taken in good faith.” 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(3); see also Hooker v. American Airlines, 302 23 F.3d 1091, 1092 (9th Cir. 2002) (revocation of in forma pauperis status appropriate where district 24 court finds the appeal to be frivolous). The good faith standard under 28 U.S.C. § 1915 is an 25 objective one. Coppedge v. United States, 369 U.S. 438, 445 (1962).
